on my ETS150 i have burned out the male and female junction in the handle , not sure what happened?
i did notice the sander did not seam to run at the same speed all the time, but not much. i would check and see if every thing was plugged in ok-and it was i thought!!
i am sure now it was not! but it seamed to be in too me.
its about 2 years old, i see now some of the cords have a white end , is that what i need as well as the female plug!
thanks for your help

Allen,

I don't know if you use one cord for multiple tools, but it sounds like there is a possibility that the cord may not have been completely locked on one tool at some time.  That has a chance of damaging the cord.  Then when it is plugged into another tool it can damage the connections on that tool.  The white insert is just the newest version of the cord.

Contact Festool about your tool and check your other tools.

To add to what Peter posted.  This can be a serious problem because the damaged tool or Plug-It cord can burn out other cords/tools it's used with.  It other words, it's possible that you used the bad cord on your Festool router and damaged the router too.  Or you tried another cord on your ETS150 and damaged that cord too, then went to to use this new damaged cord on yet another tool.  You can unknowingly spread the problem like it's an infectious disease.  It is really important to immediately stop using the cord and tool as soon as you suspect a problem and call Festool.

The new white ended Plug-It cords are the same cords, just from a new supplier.

Thanks for the info!!
i did find out one thing ,it's a long way across the yard to my shop when i think i may have hurt more of my Festool!
i have one dead cord ,one wounded cord. But all the other tools are fine.
replacement plug is on the way!! pulse a spare so i know i won't do that again!

Be sure to carefully check your ETS150 to be certain there is not damage to the Plug-It connection on it.  If there is you'll just ruin another cord.

I have been a professional woodworker for since 1974 and
this is why I use Festool .
1) I have found good friends and solid advice on this forum.
2) When I called festool about my problem, I got real people -that knew what they where doing!
3) The parts came to the house in short order, and they where the right parts.
4) The tool was built to be used and used  and used some more, the parts where easy to fix= correctly .
thank you
for all you do

I had the same from Festool UK, the service was excellent, within 36 hours my ETS 150 was back working and as the workhorse sander in the workshop its hard to be without.

Thanks Festool for the excellent tools and service.
