So, I recently purchased my first Festool, tool. Great feel to it. I also purchased a suction hose, and am not sure I got the right one. Seems like there should be a corresponding twist lock on the hose. Can someone enlighten me if this is correct, or is there a different hose end I could swap?

No twist lock, just twist / wiggle it on there. Does it go on there? It’s basically just a friction fit.

There is a bayonet fitting available 500668. It's an insert and 1/3rd turn to lock setup. It's a little more positive than the older friction fit system but not a lot. The largest advantage is that dust will no longer settle in the bayonet spaces that are molded into the new tool exhaust ports.

Is that a new hose fitting 500668?  Does it come on the new smooth no snag hoses or do I have to buy that extra?

I don't see that on ToolNut.  Where did you buy it?

This one fits the old sleeved hose version. There was/is also a 500669. Maybe that fits the new smooth hose?

Ok, thanks Cheese.  Not sure how I missed hearing about those.

Were those specifically designed to avoid the trapped dust problem with the new bayonet hose ends?

I believe so...however I don't know how well they work for that task because I still use the old versions. I installed one of these new ends but it was then nigh on to impossible to install the hose on the older style oval dust ports that are on the OF 1010, RS 2 & DX 93.
