Does anyone know if the new sander comes with the new power cord that has the wrap to wrap around the dust extractor hose? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

In the USA. The hose sleeve is not included with the EC sanders. It is currently only available with the hose and cord. The wrap / sleeve is also sized for the newer tapered hose. I got a hands on with recently. It is quite nice. Seems to have good flexibility too.

In Europe the ETS EC sanders are sold with the GQ hose as a Set!
It includes one or two systainers.
Always cheaper to buy Set versions from Festool compared to selling separate items.

I wish they would have a 5 or 7 meter long with the sleeve. Recently renovated a stair. And that length would be great. I´ll think I have my mother in law sew me a couple of 7 meter long sleeves that can be taken off and washed, and buy another 3,5 meter hose to attach 2 toghether.

The GQ sleeves are sold separately in length 3,5m (500588) and 10m (500589).
Though not cheap as aspected (€83-167 incl. VAT). Which is €23-16/m.
Or what I use is TechFlex Flexopet woven PET covers.
And is a lot cheaper (€2/m) and available in many colours like a Festool colour look alike (neon green).

I believe they are talking about the new 27mm hose which comes wrapped with the cord in a sleeve. I have that hose and it works well where you would use a 27mm hose. It connects to a Festool vac or, if you own a boom arm, it will also connect for use with that. I have found that it is very easy to use with sanders; flexible and you don't have to worry about the cord (even though, on the boom arm, that is already dealt with to some degree). I have also used it with the Domino and it works well. It seems more flexible than a regular 27mm hose, but I don't know that for sure.

i have the original 27mm hose that I it with my midi last year and my 150/5. But I am selling my 150/5 for the new brushless and don't want to spend another $275 on a hose. So I want to know if that older hose will still work with the new sander and if so what is the real difference with the new "tapered" hose besides it is wrapped.

Your old hose will work with the new sander. The connector is the same diameter.

They call the new hose tapered, because it is 32 mm thick on the vac side, and 27 mm on the other.

arent the original hoses the same way? If not then how can you connect a 27 or 35 hose to the dust extractor side

No, the original hoses are not tapered, but the same size overal. The connection to the vac or tool is done by an adapter on each end.

Here are a couple of photos to help you out. I've used both of the hoses pictured on my ETS EC 125/3 sander and find the Festool zippered version a lot more flexible than the Flexo covered (ogre) version.

In comparing the two hoses:

When using the Flexo wrap, the electrical cord is held tightly against the hose, the Flexo wrap itself is fairly stiff and the ID of the hose is 27 mm. All of which stiffen up the hose.

When using the Festool zippered hose, the cord and the cover are fairly loose and the ID of the hose is only 22 mm. This hose is a LOT easier to use in tight places. I think it makes an ideal hose for sanding.

Finally, as Alex noted, the fitment on the tool is dictated by the adapter on the hose end. Notice the different adapter end sizes in the picture, yet both fit the sander.

Hmm? Is the the hose with the 22mm hose the same as the new sleeved hose? Or someting you have put together yourself? Agree it must be ideal for sanding. But sigh.. I don´t want yet another product suited for just a few of my tasks.. hehe. Can the 22mm hose also be ordered by the meter? I´m thinking something between 5-7 meter would be a great length for me. 10 meter just seems a bit to much. Also heard that it is 2 5 meter hoses connected inside the sleeved 10 meter version.
