Extra dust with TS55

I've noticed that my saw is putting out more dust than it used to. I've checked the usual suspects (vacuum bag, clogged hose, tape over window on saw). Everything I can think of checks out. I'm cutting FinColorPly with the 48-tooth blade. Anything I'm missing?
Thanks.

Hi,

Try looking into the blade cover through the dust port. Sometimes a shaving will lodge inside. If you don't see anything through the port, then take the side cover off. A jam of shavings can hide pretty well inside.

How old are your filters?  They do slowly clog over time although they might look clean.  At least mine have.  It has always been amazing to see the difference in my case with a filter change.

Just a thought.

Does the blade protrude more through the material less than usual? Are you using a different blade or cutting a different material than you usually work with? Do you have a second dust extractor with which you can compare the suction? Did you recently clean your safety glasses?

[member=3611]SGreenberg[/member] did you pull the blade? As in take it out altogether? I once suffered a similar issue, and everything looked clean and OK from the outside. I checked everything listed by other contributors above. Taking out the blade revealed a large splinter of oak jammed right up inside the roof of the blade housing, with a substantial clog of material built up behind it. The splinter was doing a fine ‘Hoover Dam’ job of preventing dust and debris reaching the extractor port. Just a thought.

Thanks, all good suggestions, and I'd either tried them or did them again now. I even had eye surgery. It's not a major problem, but still seems to be more than it should be. I can live with it for now.
