hi all

my first post on here, i couldnt find an answer searching the forum. does such a product exist or has anyone made one so that i can have kapex and another hose connected to the extractor with a simple lever switch or something to switch the extraction between the 2 without having to keep swapping the hoses. im guessing with a y connector there will be too much loss of suction?

i think ive seen a video peter parfit had something workshop based set up but is there anything for on site?

cheers

In the US we have blast gates. I believe the smallest is 2 1/2" that I have seen. I am sure it could be adapted to be used with 2" hose.
It would not be real difficult to make a small box out of wood with a slide on it to open one & close the other.

I use an Y-piece (452898) and 2 Sealing slides (497926) both from Festool on my VCP 260.
It reduces the air flow by 10-15% but it works. But for most machines that's no problem.

This is what I use also.

This is an idea from Ron Paulk. I made my own blast gates that work ok from some hardboard and pvc.

That vacuum looks like a droid from Star Wars. What do all those dials do?

Indeed this VCP 260 vac has 2 extra dials. So 4 in total and an extra power outlet which gives constant power.
One dial is to choose the hose diameter and another for switching the Autoclean to be On/Off.

These vacs were first introduced for the Protool brand for cleaning heavy dust from grout, brick or concrete.
Now that much  of the Protool machines are named Festool this VCP 260 has become obsolete.
Festool now only has a 36L version with 4 dials called: CTM 36 AC, CTM 36 AC HD and CTM 36 E AC HD.
Don't know if these are available in the USA.

Wow, that's four more dials than any shop vac I've ever used. Where have they been all my life?
