Face frame units

Its's been a good project to follow, what paint did the painter use, or did I miss that bit?

No you didn't miss it. It was farrow & ball eggshell water based. My painter wanted to use johnstones oil based but when he got it mixed up in the farrow and ball colour the customer chose, it didnt match. He ended up returning the johnstones and buying the farrow & ball.

It's not bad but I might have looked even better in oil but I'm no expert.

Looks fantastic.
Thanks again for taking the time to show the project from start to completion, much appreciated.
Cheers.

Looks amazing! Love the way the doors look, and great job with them being inset, that's the sign of a true craftsman when they all fit perfectly. Great job! This gives me something to shoot for with the design all the way through the install. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more of your work.

Thanks, yeah the doors were always a worry. I'm fussy about gaps , a bit OCD in fact. I took a gamble that the doors would be a good fit and the painter painted everything without me fitting the doors. It's a nice feeling when you fit the doors and everyone fitted spot on. It probably helped that I used a laser to set out the units so they're all spot on and dead square openings. I also trimmed all the doors to an exact final size using a router and template trim cutter.

Beautiful job there! Nice and clean looking. Love them LED lights as well!! There the bees knees. All the shops I fit include LED lighting into the cabinets these days

Cheers how did your London job go ??

Ya grand apart from a foreman who let a lot of bad work go before I got there. I went to every bedroom door and all the recievers were butchered into the frame. They all came cnc'd and they didn't level the head of the frames so they moved them all up and down.

Needless to say they needed a lot of patching up with different coloured wax sticks to match the colour the woodwork was stained and sprayed.

That was only the beginning of the bad work he left behind him and let go.

I'm back for a second phase in February and things are changing. My friend who was working there with me is going to be the foreman running the job and he's only letting lads he knows that are good come with us. I suppose he will be sorting that much stuff while we are there he won't be on the tools that much and I'll probably have to help keep an eye on things as well

Yeah I see that a lot when I'm subbing on big jobs. Theres some right cowboys working on real prestigious jobs sadly

Ya it's really sad to see. An extra hour per bedroom would have left them nice and neat and not looking like lads didn't care and just beat them in anyway at all. No pride is a big problem

The units look great, customer must be very happy.

Thanks for taking the time to post the build, really enjoyed following it.
