Hey everybody

I was approached by a guy who is selling a ATF 55, MFT 1080, 1400/2 Track, 1080/2 Track, Gecko, and a Guide Rail Deflector. It's all been used maybe 4 times. There's one kerf on the MFT Top.

He's asking $500 for it all. Is this a fair price?

I've never used the ATF 55 and I know it's a few generations old now, so my concern is this might be too high.

Thanks in advance

RUN and buy it right now.  That's incredibly low!  Go on Ebay and check some prices.  Festool probably resells for 60% - 75% of retail.

Seems very good to me. I've seen used MFT 1080's going for around $300 by themselves...

Looks like a good deal indeed, especially if the use is as minimal as he says. People do tend to be overly optimistic on that last part though.

It's fair but not great.

Forget the gecko and the guide rail deflector and you're paying for an MFT 1080 and an old saw (both come with guide rails). If you are thinking about adding more tables in the future, then be aware that the 1080 is not the same height as the MFT/3.

There is a very good-looking used ATF saw on ebay at the moment for $300, so you can assume $200 for the MFT 1080.

I'd try to push the seller down a little to make it a good deal.

I still use a ATF55 and it works great and I'm sure you will like the 1080.  The extra rail adds to the deal.  Not a screaming deal but a good start to Festool.

I think it's a very good price.

The ATF 55 is an excellent saw. The TS 55 is more refined and lighter weight but it doesn't cut better than the ATF (unless the off-cut piece is the one you want and you use the green splinter guard). Also, the ATF doesn't require as long a guide rail as the TS.

The new saw TS55R(?) isn't even available here yet.

Are you absolutely sure that is a 1400/2 rail? The ATF55 used the older style rail 1400/1 although the AFT55 will work on the current xxxx/2 rails.

Thanks for the responses everybody. All items weren't stolen and like new. The deal was better than I thought. The saw was a TS 55 EQ PLUS! Bought everything this morning.
