???Hi, there's a guy selling Festool on craigslist in ct, is there anyway to determine in they are fake or the real thing. Thanks John

I saw the same ads and from what I can tell the person bought reconditioned tools and marked them up because they were older models listed as new and were priced about $ 40 more.

That is my take but I could be wrong.

I've seen some knock-off Festools on a website in Asia that looked the same but were a different color. Otherwise, I don't know of any "fake" Festools. Feel free to send me a link and I'll check it out for you.

Can't remember without going to look at my Domino, but doesn't most Festool come with serial numbers?

Hmm, earmuffs with built in safety glasses...

Hasn't that "unique" combination been done before?

I would agree with Peter, he's just saying they're Festool green, not made by Festool.

All tools should have serial numbers on their labels. The current serial numbers are 8-digits and begin with a "1". We are transitioning to 16-digit serial numbers in the coming months.
