Fall Promo - OF 2200 and MFK 700 routers

The problem with paying installments for any type of asset is that the asset could lose value while you are paying for it and not using it.  Imagine if 6 months ago we put a CT-22 on layaway...?  I can imagine how upset many would be on the release of a new replacement product (CT-26), while being stuck with the old product at full price.

Kodi,

I think your points are well taken as a general statement, but using your example, why would anyone be more "stuck' in a layaway type plan than the more traditional payment plan? Both methods would have been paid in full before shipping and both methods could avail themselves of the 30 day return policy. Again, I am not defending "layaway" type plans, as noted above - I haven't incorporated that type of payment method, but with Festool's tools, I don't see this as an issue.

Well on site I have been the only one I ever saw with Festools. I have said many times every time I bring them out about 90% of the crew never heard of them.

That is funny since you live close to a very large city.

I live in a town of 13,000 and my one friend that lives and has a shop here, may have more festool's then me.  I do have more systainers and he doesn't even have a table (poor guy).

I would like to have the 2200 but, I would like to know I could put in a cms before I bought the router.
10% is a decent little bit off.  It sparked my interest in the longer rails with the TS promotion.

I didn't buy a long rail, I just didn't have the need for one at the time and saving 29 bucks was not worth spending 258 bucks.

Two weeks ago that 3000mm rail would have paid for itself in a couple hours with all the ply I cut.

I just usually buy things when I have to have it for something on a job, or at home.  I don't have too many impulse or just want have it buys.

I bet this promotion will go over as well as the last one did. [thumbs up]

I hope this sale will include the router bits for the MFK700.  I was trying to convince myself not to buy this little router, but this promo will force me to buy it from Uncle Bob in early October.

Well as you said "has a shop". It very well may be that guys with shops around here and in the city do have Festools, I know I do. But ON the job site is what I was referring to, which is normally trim and framing carpenters or cabinet installers. Plumbers , electricians, none I have seen on site to date has ever had a Festool.

I live out of Chicago 65 miles and in my town and county horses outnumber people 10 to 1. I think we are up to 20,000 people, but we are the county seat. In my town most probably use cheaper tools than in Chicago, but most of my work is in the city because of what I can charge there, in my town I couldn't get 1/2 the wages. I live far enough away from the city for cheap housing, but live close enough to the city  to get the better wages. The last many years has been all internet sales for me, but now I am venturing back out became of the shortage of work. I have to go where the money is.

Looks like the bits will not be included in the Fall Promotion. :-X

For someone who already has several non-Festool routers, I can assure the doubters that a 10% discount can be an effective incentive for someone to pick up a unit even though the need may not be there...

In this economy as a whole I am not so sure that is true across the board at this moment in time, at least not among my personal friends outside the forum or should I say co-workers. Regardless, you can never have to many routers.

On the bigger routers like the OF2200 the 10%  is a nice amount I guess, better than nothing.  :)
