family room

A small family room make over I recently did. Built, stained and laquered in my shop then installed. Mantle, floating shelves, ledge cap, window casing, replace 3 six panel doors. When i finished they threw some more work my way. The tv picture  frame, couple more floating shelves and some stair work. Not bad.

Nice work - did you cut the miters for the shelves in the corners with the Kapex or on the MFT table?

Kapex, after i domino, when i dry fit i use a razor knife to mark my short points.. and thanks

Thanks guys. I made a 3/4" by 1 1/4" deep dado on 3 sides before  I put on the solid edge band. The 1 1/4" dado is extra deep for 1/4" scribe. Then installed 3/4 by 7/8 poplar cleats on the wall and used poly seam seal to glue the cleats to the shelves. Plus a couple 18g nails for good measure.

I have to install 2 more shelves today on the left of the window. Ill take  a few pictures of that.

It's nice when you get extra work...
That's quite the stack of Festool systainers (third and fourth photo) you got in the family room...and I thought I took a lot of tools on site.
