Farewell, biscuit joiner!

I purchased a Domino Joiner last fall, but only last week took the plunge and parted with my biscuit joiner.  Instead of sitting unused in my closet, it will sit unused in the basement at my church for a couple of months, then go to someone who will use it for a song at the annual rummage sale.  It was really hard to do, because I treated the tool well and there was nothing wrong with it and growing up we just didn't get rid of things that weren't thoroughly worn out.  But it had to go, and gone it is.

Not quite there yet, although I did sell my second biscuit jointer (DeWalt) and kept the P/C which I felt was more versatile.

Still, I boxed it in a T-Loc and have it at the bottom of the stack of "seldom used tools"....

I use the domino, but i wouldn't be without my Lamello! Some things are just quicker and easier with it and biscuits are cheaper than dominos. Try the Lamello  hinges too.

i havnt used my cheap biscuit joiner since getting the domino. i can see the point of keeping it if it was a lamello etc for the different hindges and KD fittings etc.

i though my domino would replace my biscuit joiner, but so far on every domino project i have done, i also used my Bosch biscuit joiner.
the domino's can be used in all situations but they are overkill in some and more expensive. like when i attach a mitered frame around a panel, i biscuit the panel to the frame, but use dominos to assemble the frame corners.

plus a have a box of a few thousand lamello's, by the way it is being used, i think i have enough for a couple decennia!
