Favorite Festool

I always thought that the TS55 had to be my favorite Festool, the cut quality, ease of use and setup, and good dust collection.  But I have been using my trion barrel grip jig saw a lot lately, and I think I am leaning to this being my favorite.  I always hated jig saws, mostly the d handle version.  I always had an issue with seeing the cut line, being right handed and left eye dominate.  Plus the dust collection isn't bad.

So I have switched and found a new favorite.  Have others out there in FOG land had the same thing happen?

I'm having a hard time trying to determine which one is my favourite. I enjoy working with all my Festool tools. Everytime I pick one up it's a pleasure. I agree with Shane that the domino is high on the list but when I use my sanders with the ct26 at a client's place I always have a smile on my face. For example, I was asked to come sand a fireplace mantel made out of Wenge wood that was not sanded to perfection, got out my ets125 and dts 400 and 1/2 hour later I was done. Client was happy and gave me more work. Love the Kapex as well.

As much as I love all my Festool's gotta agree with shane it's the domino for me. Maybe that will change when I finally pull the trigger on a kapex [big grin]

T15 with its centrotec bits for me. Drilling has never been the same. And I like the kind of projects I do with it best.

Been doing a lot of jobs around the house for the last 3 weeks that needed quite some use of the CS70, love that machine very much too.

My favorite, (and it may sound trite), is the one I just finished using...

Today, that was the CMS.

I spent a portion of the afternoon with a customer making fairly precise stopped dadoes (and some through dadoes) in drawer fronts to receive fancy 90-degere pulls that needed to be embedded. It was an interesting use of the CMS and its various stops. It included using both the fence from the CMS and the fence from the MFT to achieve the length required on a wider drawer. It also included using two flag stops on the fences and the slider stops varying from one direction to the other. It was an interesting use of the possibilities.

The CMS has such inherent precision, including with the slider, that it was pretty easy... We used the piece of hardware to transfer the thickness of the metal and made the depth of cut almost perfect, without trying real hard.

For the longest time my favorite was the TS55.  Especially since I got the MFT/3 at the same time.  Precision and dust extraction are just superior.  Lately its been the CXS/Centrotec Installers combo.  That drill / bit combo is just unbelievably handy.  However, I just unboxed a Kapex today.  It might be my favorite tomorrow when I give it the first true workout. Maybe my answer is which ever Festool is my newest.

Rotex, either 125 or 150.  There is no single-tool substitute for what it does or how well it does it.

Not to mention the magic zen state it puts me into when sanding large flat surfaces.

Domino is number 1, then take your pick because they are all great.

I've only got a small collection of Festools but more than any other tools, Festool or not, I use my CXS set and Carvex.

I don't have that many Festools but i also don't have just a few.

So far the TS75 gets the most use award.

The sanders blow my mind as sanding dust free after years of inhaling piles whatever  whenever is priceless. The icing on the cake is not having to clean the mess or seal myself into a room and cover or remove everything that could not get dusted.

My favorite though has go to me my Kapex or CMS.

Least favorite so far is MFT/3. Sadly i purchased a 3 and a basic. Other than clamping stuff down i just don't really use it. Everytime i find a need for it my stock does not fit. Worse is getting and keeping it square. The solution is throwing the fence out and using dogs. Still i would not be that i pressed. Maybe i just dont inow how to use it?

Depends on the day but either the TS55REQ or OF1400.

I just picked up a Domino so this might change soon, can't wait to try it.

The TS55......  This is where my Festool journey began, enabling safe and efficient breakdown of sheet goods.  The domino is a game changer, and really, all of the Festools I've purchased are outstanding to use, but the TS55 was the "enabler"......

Mine Festools were purchased for business use, for me it is the Festool that allowed me to do the job neatly and more efficiently. Normally it would be a combination of a cutting, shaping, sanding tool connected to a CT.

While I have a pretty good stable of Festool magic,  I would have to day that the CXS is my most used and loved tool along with the Centrotec Installers Kit.
I love all my tools, but the CXS has become almost a part of my body, and is the most used tool in my inventory.
Just the right size. Just the right power. Just the right attachments for everyday use.

Silly as it may seem, the Centrotec Ratchet Set is my second favorite, and gets a ton of use for all the little things that have to be done around the house. Not much use for "building" stuff, but for general use, it's magic...just like the CXS.

Cheers,
Frank (Now back in Nigeria)
