February 8 new tool announcement

DIFFERENCES between the two saws

TS 60: 1500 watt brushless motor...no riving knife...3000-6800 RPM...62 mm & 45 mm cutting depth...4.6 kg...FS & FSK guide rails

TS 55: 1400 watt brushed motor...riving knife...2000-5800 RPM...55 mm & 43 mm cutting depth...4.5 kg...FS guide rail

TS 60: no riving knife but with kickback stop.

Any reason why the riving knife can't be retained in the TS60? The kickback stop doesn't do the same thing as the riving knife.

If they make a cordless TS60, it would be a really good combination saw, compatible with both rails. Corded saw with FSK rails kind of sucks

Tuned in at 5 PM CST for the Youtube event at 6 PM EST, and it was postponed until 6:30 EST.

So I left work and went home and ignored it.

Checked around 7 PM CST once the boy was in bed and tried to watch the replay of the event.  Ten minutes of introducing all of the people in the room, with a brief pan across the CSC 50 "Table Saw in a Systainer", the KSC 60 Kapex, the CTC SYS (which is already in stores) and the CTC MIDI.

Then more walking around talking to people and then they cut the feed and said "We'll be back later but don't go away".

So then I stopped the YouTube video.

If I had been watching live, I would have probably tuned out at that point as well.  I find it rather rude, to be honest, to first delay the event 30 minutes and then to blow off your live remote audience by going to a blank screen?  I'd definitely be curious to see the view stats by timeline for the event.

During the opening, I saw the RSC 18 Recip saw in the background, but it wasn't mentioned during the intro section.

As of 7:40 PM CST, NONE of the new tools are listed on the Festool USA website.  The newest "New" tool listed is the MFT-HZ 80 clamp.

Overall, a swing a a wide miss, in my estimation.

Considering all of the tools were in the rumor mill already, and the images and sales links in Europe had already been linked, they could have at least admitted "hey, you've probably seen all of this, so we'll tell you what's coming to America this year", and then gone into demos and whatnot later.

Maybe I've gotten spoiled by Apple events and their immediate release of product information after an announcement.  I know Festool isn't Apple, but they're still big enough and have enough of a social media presence to know better.

I agree, and very focused on catering to the "influencers."
I'm glad the KSC60 is on the way, I need one.
This event should have been much more focused on the tools.

I was very disappointed with the way this happened. Maybe I had hyped the event up too much in my head with all the new leaks, but the "wait here while we go mingle" really made the stream feel like a low priority. Kinda insulting to tell us to waste our time watching it.

Out of curiosity, who are the 'influencers'?

Did anyone compile a list of the new tools that were announced for NA?

I suppose I can wait for an e-mail overnight from Toolnut and Beaver, too, as they tend to announce the pre-orders before FUSA updates their website.

I'm an influencer...Cheese Kardashian here and just spending a little bit of the precious seconds of the day that I have luxuriating in my outdoor infinity pool in the Twin Cities while the air temps are still above 36º for the next 5 days. After that, the temps will drop and I'll be forced to turn the dam pool in to a skating rink...ah the unfairness of it all.  James...is the Bentley ready?

So.......what was revealed, anything of significance?

This may be the first time I’ve ever been sad not to be in the presence of a ‘Like’ button.

For Festool Live, this event was an embarrassment. Why make a big announcement about a new online tools event and then this? Come on. Maybe the event works in person for invited guests. But the online part was a total joke and extremely unprofessional.

Here are the new tools coming to the USA in 2023:
- KSC 60
- TS 60
- systainer table saw
- cordless midi
- remodeling surface grinder (not sure about the name but looks great if you need it)
- probably others I didn’t see because it was a total mess. For example, someone here mentioned the RSC 18 recip saw

I did not see the TS60 with scoring blade and the new drills.

These are all great tools with some real innovation. Not all for me but an impressive lineup. Most are already sold in Europe. Good to know that they coming to the US.

I feel the same.. I was excited to have a big reveal of tools and I feel like they were building it up to be that. Maybe I built it up too much in my head as well.. but yeah.  It did just feel like the live feed wasn’t important.

I also haven’t had a good attitude about the whole “influencer” thing. A lot (not all) of it just feels inauthentic to me… I don’t know, could just be me but the influencer thing is getting old.

I also know most of us on here care and know way more than the average person about what festool is doing and releasing.

Thanks [member=63227]Reed Hoyer[/member] ...with the 5 thumbs up you've now confirmed that I am indeed an influencer.

Isn't that how it all works?

I also saw towards the end they had new gen systainers with the bit organizers in the lid as well as a soft open top tool bag that has a solid base to lock in to the top of a systainer. Pretty cool, and dont get me wrong I am pumped about the new tools!!!

I got busy and forgot it was Festool Wednesday (?! second only to Taco Tuesday). Sounds like I didn't miss much from the show. All I know is the 4Ah Energy Set is still not available for order or pre-order so -sigh- we wait.

The TS-60 does sound nice, though. I have a TS-75 instead of the 55 for capacity reasons but was considering a cordless 55. Didn't see the announcements, but if a TSC-60 is in the cards, I may go for that.

I don't have a reciprocating saw so if that actually comes out, I might go for it. Using the Carvex for demo work is annoying and awkward at best.

Sadly, I was hoping for a 7/16" socket for the socket set... too much?!

P.S., what's Cheese's IG? I _need_ to follow influencers...

Paul...would like to work with you but I don't have the time...time is precious for influencers. Place a call with my pool boy after his hands have been unthawed.

OMG... he saw that my follower count isn't up to "Cheese-levels" and blocked me. I'm going to have, like, a social melt-down... I hope you are so proud...

Wait... you have a pool?!
