Felder FAT300

Jesus, how tall are you  [eek] I also have the wixey digital reader and love it.

Thanks for the pictures, and go back to build something. Your shop is way too clean  [tongue]

[member=66485]hdv[/member] .. thanks for the photos .. for a small space you really have it dialed in.  Organization is the key!  As mentioned, I had planned on purchasing the K3 Winner and A3-31 earlier in the year, but held off and kind of changed my mind to the Sawstop PCS and A3-31.  Now thinking about the C3-31.

[member=66597]Mario Turcot[/member]. Actually I am considered to be quite short where I come from (about 5'10'').  [cool]  But that's nothing some steps can fix. [tongue]

During my studies (aerospace engineering) I've been taught that a safe shop is a clean shop (though not necessarily the other way around). After seeing a student get seriously injured I never forgot that.

It helps that I am no turner anymore. You should see the mess I made back then!  [eek]

I was wondering because you have some clamps hooked into the ceiling  [scared]

Yes a clean shop is a must but man it's no diner room you know  [tongue]

I like your shop, well done  [thumbs up]

[member=63307]TrackTubesGuy[/member]. You're welcome. If you want more details, just give a holler. I've been using this machine for more than 2 years now and still am very happy with it.

On the other hand, when I have my new shop I'd like to buy a good, hefty bandsaw and for that I would really prefer the Felder FB610 over the Hammer N4400. But for most things I do Hammer is more than good enough.

[member=66597]Mario Turcot[/member]. I have to admit I need to stand on something to reach for the clamps that are overhead.  [embarassed] I have the most used ones on the wall (as you can see), but the rest had to go up (no more room).

You should see it at the end of the day, before I start cleaning! Stuff of nightmares...  [scared] But I never leave the shop a mess. I hate it when I have to search for tools, or when there's waste everywhere. Especially in the morning before my first cup of tea.  [wink]

I'm with HDV regarding never leaving the shop until cleanup is done...mess' first thing in the morning really stress' my ocd.

I have been thinking about getting a FAT300 but I cant justify the cost, it is just a elevating table with a hydraulic ram.

I have a few large and long Pneumatic ram sitting around and abundance of compressed air, I plan to build my own elevating platform....

Just an update in terms of pricing. FAT 300 is listed for $1700 USD here in NZ, this is without the top. if you are registered for business use you can claim back the tax which makes the table about $1500 USD.  pretty good price compare to North America I'd say.

Hi. Im new here. I was considering buying one of those fat tables, but now i think about calculating cost of diy build. Is there any chance that one of you guys provide Steel profile dimension used at this fat table? Cant find anything on felder web. Thanks

I measured the steel tube profile as 40 mm x 60 mm.  The bottom frame dimensions are approx. 1100 mm x 650 mm and the top frame dimensions approx. 1100 mm x 625 mm.

Thanks for this. And can you describe or show how felder figure out this part with routed groves at top and bottom section? Are there some rollers that run through this channel profile ?

Despite the price, the FAT tables are pretty standard lift tables.  You can buy plans for them on Etsy.  The lifting mechanism is what Felder seems to do pretty nicely.
