Festal Jigsaw OR Bandsaw for this?

Trying to get back into the profession in custom carpentry such as built-ins, small remodels, etc.  That is why I am so heavily considering the Trion over the bandsaw at this time as it seems to have more future use.

I think a good bandsaw would be a much more useful tool for custom carpentry in the long term.  Honestly any decent jigsaw is going to be able to get you close, but I don't see many people using jigsaws for resawing or joinery.  Bandsaws really do not make a ton of fine dust, all but the 18"+ machines can be handled with a shopvac.  Besides, if you get the Trion you are going to be kicking yourself in 6 months when the Carvex is finally released.

Comments on whether the Trion would handle the task well or not?

Yes the Trion can handle the task. Check out Kreg's Arbor post

IMHO, in the long term a bandsaw will be needed, in the short term (for your current project) a jigsaw and template will work fine.
