Okay, maybe JMB can translate this, then someone else can translate JMB's translation and then maybe I'll understand the question. [tongue]

I'd say it's that first link, Seth and Brice.  I don't think he's going to find somebody, even Dovetail, who would take apart their fence and sell off the main part.  The best he could hope for is someone selling the whole accessory at a discount.

See Brice, no need for JMB.  [big grin]

Exactly what ken said, i bought a 2nd hand (nearly new) 1400 router it has all the parts except the fence shown in the first link, i can buy it as a spare part but it costs £85 thats $138.65 to those that dont understand the queens english, i thought i got a good deal on the router but having got a price from my dealer for the fence im not far off the original purchase price. [crying]

OK, there is a bit of a transatlantic mix-up here!

The original poster did not mention that the parallel edge guide (he called it a fence because in the UK it is called a parallel side fence) is included in the OF 1400 package in the UK.

Dan, in the US it is not included and costs $65 or about 40 quid, half what it costs in the UK.

ah ok thanks Richard, i took the first reply a little personally, i may be flying out later in the year might hang on till then.

Regards Daniel.

Here in the USA both the Fence and the guide rail stop/fence are optional accessories, for the OF1400.

Daniel, I'm sorry if my post offended you, that was not my intention.  As Richard pointed out there is sometimes transatlantic confusion with our English.  And, some the younger guys like you and JMB are of the text speak generation and it can be hard for us older guys to know what you're saying at times. This misunderstanding was completely my fault, sorry about that.

No worries brice, having read it back I guess it could sound a little strange to you guys, like I was in Florida last year and was telling an American I lived in "Cornwall" he was like "damn you live in cornhole" was quite funny I thought! But back to the fence we get so ripped off here in the uk $65 is much more realistic.

I hereby nominate Daniel as "Official FOG King of the Run-On Sentence" !!  [smile] [smile] [smile]

Daniel, I'm glad I don't live in the UK. I thought the $65 US was a bit excessive, for $130 I'd have cobbled up something. Hope you find one that'll leave you some lunch money...

Best,
Bill
