Hello. Hoping someone might have some suggestion. Our 36E vacuum (hooked almost exclusively to a 6" sander) stopped working. We replaced the brushes and it worked, then the next day it didn't work. It's probably 6-7 years old. We've checked all the usual spots, opened it up and blown out all the dust, checked connections, etc but nothing we can see if out of place. Interestingly, the power plug for the sander does have power. Any suggestions for what to try next? Just trying to avoid shipping it back and being without it. Thanks.

Did the Commutator in the motor look okay when you were replacing the Brushes? Nothing burnt looking or discolored?
And, how worn were the old brushes. I've seen new brushes that worked better by slightly arcing them to match the wear in the Commutator of the motor, versus expecting the flat end of a new brush to work perfectly right away.
If you got back in there with a Volt Meter, you could probably see if power is at the motor correctly, and it's an internal issue keeping the motor from working.
