Festool as point of differentiation

Great website Andy! Love how much details you share - that's a point of differentiation right there, very cool!

Kind regards,
Oliver

good stuff! at the end of the day its just a joy to use, get the job done and nothing else matters.

As one post pointed out that there is a difference between new home builders and remodeling / restoration contractors.  I have done both,  but mainly focused on remodeling and restoration types of work.
With that being said,  a large number of projects involved working with the owner living in the home during the project,  so cleaning was a top priority for my part,  even before I started using Festool and other dust collection tooling on site.
I built my reputation on the ability to make sure that the customer could remain in their home comfortable throughout the job,  and this lead to my being able to make a good living on word of mouth alone.

It sounds like Festool is a much better known brand with the public in the EU than over here.  I go into different tool stores and lumber yards all the time and most of the staff have never heard of them.  If any U.S. contractor advertised that they use Festool as a means of dust control, 99% of the public would have no idea what that means.

My experience has been that the people who can afford the prices of craftsmen using Festool know what it is or at least can tell pretty quickly that it isn't the home center or local Sears' standard powertool offering.
