Festool Assembly Table and shop photo

thanx for all the comments fellas!!

fshanno...the 4511 was an upgrade from the craftsman i had before then, but I think I will be upgrading that soon. I'm looking at the Laguna 4' Pro w/ scoring!

Also, I have the Leigh Super FMT, but I only used it once and have found that the domino does exactly the same thing only faster and easier! The Leigh is actually up for grabs on ebay!

Job, the bench cookies are nice...they move around more than I hope though especially when routing

Kevin D., the pole will be wrapped in lumber soon, but I doubt I'll paint it Festool Green! LOL

Nice shop.  Not many got a lap dancing pole in the middle  ;)

Yea, I know what you mean. I had to take mine down as my wife was a hell of a distraction sliding up and down that thing while I was trying to work.  [blink]

I could have had a nasty accident with a pole around. I wonder if thats why I have these three kids running around my house?  ???

Health and Safety never once mention anything specific regarding a dance pole being in a workshop.  [wink]

If my wife did any pole dancing I would need to buy a bigger dust extractor.

I wish there was a way to get rid of it, but I don't think yanking it out is an option!

So I guess you are stuck with the pole dancing then?  [smile]

Put your hands together and welcome to the stage....errr....assembly table.....DOMINOTRIX!!!! [blink]

I just moved into my new workshop. It could do with a lick of paint but I wanted to get my stuff in so that I could start making stuff asap. The clean-up and painting can wait.  ;) Probably forever!

I purposely left a large space for the soon-to-arrive MFT.

It's only about 400 square feet but the window runs the length of one of the long sides, about 25 feet. Amazing light. Got a sink in there too, unlike the last place which was bigger but not as suitable. (Had a hairy carpet for a start.  [sad])

The MFT is going here!

the mft is beautiful...mine is in the outfeed side of the saw. To cut sheets i place panels across the saw and mft. I also switched the mft rail attachments to the short sides of the mft...i'll take photos when i get home tonite.l

What about security though with the large windows?!?!?!?!

Well, I am on the third floor so good luck to the guy who manages to scale thirty feet up the side of the building and make away with a planer, lathe, 300lb workbench etc.!!!

Well that solves that problem.  Now second problem! So do you have to go down a some stairs?!?! Im sure you do lol. How do you get large sheet material up to the workshop easily? and if you was to build a window or something you have to get them down the stairs?!?!

Jezus dont fancy that my self

It's a massive industrial building which is being renovated bit by bit. There are some offices, lots of artists, studios, woodworkers, etc. Even a restaurant and some tv production companies. There is a freight elevator fifteen yards from my door.

It's hard to find small spaces like this for woodworking. Fine if you are painting or in an office, but nobody wants noise or dust (even though it's a hobby not a job and I mostly go at the weekend or for an hour in the afternoon.) So I was really happy when I found this place, especially with the cheap rent and the huge window.

so like i was saying before, when Leon first mention putting an MFT in his shop,...here is how I use mine!

I created a jig to rise material to the height of my saw and keep scores out of the MFT top...

I can cut full sheets on here!!

Can I ask where your shop is located Leon? I've been looking for a wheelchair accessible shop to rent, or even better, to share in Toronto. Basically, I need enough space for a work bench, a cabinet saw and a tool box or two with enough space to build some furniture for my own use. Nothing commercial, all just for hobbyist purposes.
