Hi just a quick question I'm hoping someone knows the answer to!

I've got all my power tools in systainers in sys-ports

I've recently been considering buying a set of AZ drawers to keep my sortainers in , these rarely come out of the van and just contain fittings etc.

My question is while the sortainer is in the AZ drawer will the bottom drawer of the sortainer still open or will it have to be lifted out to clear the 'lip' of the AZdrawer ?

Many thanks in advance for any help !

Ok thanks for checking! Looks like I'm gonna have to make something or cut some sheet material up to sit in the bottom to lift the sortainer up ! How much does it need to clear it ?

But of a over sight by Festool maybe !

I don't think so. The SYS-AZ drawers are designed for systainers, not sortainers. Why would you want to put a set of drawers in another drawer? Makes no sense. Just put them on a shelf.

I don't know if you mean to put these in your van; but the AZ drawers are not intended to be used in vehicles according to Festool.  They are made of plastic and there seems to be speculation that they won't hold up in the stress and temperature swings of vehicle use.

Slipping a scrap piece of 3/4"/18mm plywood underneath your Sortainer shims it up high enough so the bottom drawer clears the Sys-AZ drawer, while still keeping the Sortainer secured in the drawer.

Regarding mobile use, I am currently working out a system to mount many small Sys-AZ cabinets in my Sprinter. Speaking with some folks in the know, it sounds like the little info graphic with the crossed out van refers to some legal issues, apparently mobile shelving is supposed to be metal and that companies aren't supposed to market wood shelving for that purpose, so this is Festool's way of marketing a product while still covering themselves legally. I'll post up again once I've had a chance to field test some prototypes.

Hope this helps!
Tom
