Festool batteries - compatibility with other brands?

No they are not (yet).

Metabo already started the CAS years ago and it's steadily growing. With a lot of (unknown) companies following.

And Fein goes to Bosch CSP batteries at the end of 2022. Other brands like Brennenstuhl, COX, Lena Lighting, Klauke, Sonlux, Wagner, Ledlenser already followed.

So maybe Festool changes in the future?
It should make the use of other battery tools a lot easier.

This is the down fall of the cordless system and why I dont own any cordless festool.  I hate having multiple battery platforms and only have dewalt batteries. I refuse to have more than one battery platform. There are a few tools that dewalt doesn't make that I own like the makita drywall saw but there are battery adaptors for the big players yellow, green, and red.  98% of my power tools are cordless. A few odd balls like a hilti TE75 otherwise its cordless. Except for the festool stuff but most of the festool is sanders, domino etc. so dust collection is going to be hooked up anyways 99% of the time.  At that point I dont see the advantage of cordless with a dust hose being connected.  I would rather have a more compact, lighter sander with a cord than a heavy, awkward sander with out a cord. The domino has to have DC hooked up either way. If Festool used a common battery platform I would probably own a few. At least the TS
