Festool carvex jigsaw blades UK

Hi there, I am thinking of purchasing a Carvex jigsaw in the near future. Can anyone comment on the use of Festool own blades?
Are they better than other makes of blades with the carvex?

At the moment I prefer Bosch blades, and I have a dewalt jigsaw.

In the UK there doesn't seem to be many stockists of Festool blades so I might have to use a different brand.

Festool fsg blades are better than any bosch blades for longevity in most materials . Depends on what you are using them to cut.  Bosch have a much larger range of blades ( the stainless steel ones are v good )  for most purposes I use the fsg blades.they are a bit dearer to buy but long term cost is cheaper.

Festool products are only available from authorised dealers, so they're not as widely available as some other brands. Having said that, there are plenty of places you can get them from, both online and at retail locations as well as all over eBay.

As Dave notes, the FSG blades are very good.

The most annoying thing is that the information regarding cutting depth of the blades seems to be based on the 300 not the carvex as the base of the carvex is deeper therefore reducing the cutting depth.  The blades ' bottom out' short of  what is stated by festool. Just my experience.

When I got my ps300 I thought I would carry on using Bosch blades with it. I got a sample pack of festool blades with it and have not used Bosch blades since. I even use festool in my Bosch jigsaw and it improved the squarness of cut with the thicker Trion blades

Had a better look on web this morning and there seems to be numerous stockist of blades, thanks for you replies.

Toolfest have some good deals on the PS 420 at the moment.

I am a carpenter and use my jigsaw for lots off different jobs, from kitchen fitting to roofing, and most things in between.

I had an old Festool jigsaw many years ago and couldn't get it to cut straight in a 40mm worktop, so I've been holding back on
purchasing the PS420, but Festool are excellent for there accessories and extraction systems, so the PS420 would be a perfect addition to my tools.
