On today's Festool Live, Sedge was hinting at some big guest for next week. Perhaps it will be some kind of indication on what will be coming in 2025.
If you go to this link
Festool USA 100 year site, you will see what Festool USA has planned. They have 5 limited edition reveals:
1) DOMINO DF 500 Q-Set, 100Y Limited Edition
2) Spring 2025
3) Spring 2025
4) Spring 2025
5) Fall 2025.
What's more interesting is the
main festool 100 site. Here's a screen cap:
Now if we
ASSUME that Festool USA ( and Festool Canada for me) does the same thing as Festool Corporate, then we should see the same promotions come up.
Here are my comments about the five promos:
1) Domino. This one makes a lot of sense. To some extent, the Domino was quite ground-breaking.
2) Systainer. While the systainer was instrumental in the portable workshop concept, I thought this was a "Meh". Making a special colour and badging for a systainer was overall a boring idea. Typically companies want to increase sales by selling expensive editions of their hardware. Selling more systainers really does not bring in very much money, as opposed to selling a 100Y anniversary tool.
3) and 4) Tracksaws. This makes a lot of sense as the track saw was invented (?) by Festool. Put the TS60 there as it is the latest most refined, and expensive corded saw. Put the cordless TSC55 there as well, since cordless tools are taking off.
5) Black track/guide rail. This makes sense. Come out with a special black 100Y version. I only wish they had chosen to make a black LR32 or a black KP-type track instead. Don't most users already have the basic FS1400/2?
6) What would you add as the Fall 2025 promo? A Kapex? (they already ran a Kapex promo on Black Friday 2024). A router? What other expensive hardware item would be worth the last promo slot?
I'm interested in your thoughts.
