Hi,

I just discovered that the Quick Clamp fits in my T Track. The screw type clamps would not.  8)

Seth,

What is the brand of your T-track?

Dave R.

Hi,

The T track in the pictures is Incra.  I just went to the shop to try a couple others.

Fits the Incra with flat head or pan head screws holding the track down.

Fits the Incra scale track with flat or pan head.

Fits Woodpeckers track with flat head.

Does not fit Kreg track at all.

Hi,

The question of compatible T track has come up several times since I first started this thread.  If anyone has the Festool Quick Clamp and other brands of T Track than have already been posted here, please give it a test and add the results to this thread.  Also note that the type of screw head can sometimes make a difference.

Hi,

I have been told that the clamps will not fit into Lee Valley Track either.

Seth

There are 2 common sizes of t-track available and often used in woodworking - 1/4 and 5/16.  This might be the problem?

Of course, there are lots and lots of different size t-tracks....but 1/4 and 5/16 is most often seen in woodworking stores.

If you look at Lee Valley, they sell both sizes of track and hardware that is appropriate for one or the other:

The clamps work in the 40 series of 8020 Inc. extrusions.

I have some and tried it. The screw and quick clamps both work in the track.

The problem is the depth of the 5/16 inch track. Some tracks are not deep enough to allow the clamps to fit in the slot.

Any 1/4 inch track will not work, not wide enough to begin wth.

Hi,

Hmmm,  The tracks that I have found they fit are all termed 1/4" T Track. Not for the actual measured size of the track, but because the heads of 1/4" bolts will fit in them.  The trouble is that the extrusians are of differing brands have enough differences to make some work and some not.  Which is why I started compiling this list.

Tried the clamps on the t-tracks from Rockler and they dont fit.  :(

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Did you try both types (Quick and screw)?  They have different profiles themselves.

Seth

In spite it is not quite on topic:

The Festool clamps fit to the base of the Incra LS Positioner.
You can clamp it securely to the edge of any table and use the Positioner.

The Festool clamps will not fit the Kreg track.

Seth

They will fit all the Woodpecker tracks however it requires grinding/sanding a hair off the side of each clamp, the leg that slides into the track. The amount was minor, I just touched it to my disk sander for < 1 second.

RMW:  Regarding your picture, what do you primarily use the two woodpeckers T tracks with the sliding bar setup for?

I'll take a gues!   Routering dados?

Yup - Dadoes but also other grooves/rabbets and cuts like the slots in the aluminum bars shown in the photo.

I can adjust the width between the t-tracks and then use various router guides and bits. Example would be using the Festool 40MM guide ring with a 8mm straight bit, if I widen the spacing between the tracks to 50MM the cut becomes 18mm (8mm bit + 10mm gap) and I make the cut in 3+ passes.

Add stops to the t-track and I can easily limit the length of cut. It works great when I need repeatable cuts, which I often do since I make multiple copies of the same small part.

Hi there, hi Seth,

did you try the Kreg Heavy Duty Track as well, or just the normal (I think 1/4") Tracks?

Thanks
