I have been looking at buying the cleaning set and it states all the attachments are for the 36mm hose, is this correct?

I did look into buying the set with the 36mm hose but have read it doesn't make that much of a difference and it can be cumbersome to have two hoses etc.

Can the cleaning set be used with the 27mm hose?

Well that's weird.  Both my cleaning sets (d36) come with d27 attachments.  They force fit the end of the d36, but are better suited for the end of the extension arms or the handle which neck down to d27.  My current 'running amok' setup throws in the separate d36-d27 adaptor and the various heads.  The arms and sweep head hang on a wall.

My cleaning sets came the same way; I have the old all-metal version.  When I saw that the new angled neck includes the twist-lock connector, I made it a priority to seek it out; I abhor trying to hold the hose and wand together with a burning passion...

Thank all, looks like it will work fine. I think the D36 before every parts name was what threw me off.

Will pick this up tomorrow, had enough of using my cheaper one for a hoover after a job as it’s rubbish

It will work fine for you. All components in the Cleaning Kits will fit onto the outside of a 27mm hose or inside of a 36mm hose (with the exception of the Industrial Cleaning Set for 50mm hoses).

Yes, the cleaning set can be used with the 27mm hose.
That said, I highly recommend the 36mm hose. It's less flexible but did make a difference with my TS 55 (important to me because I'm using it indoors working on my apartment). It makes a difference with routers as well.
Back when I bought my set with the 36mm hose, it was only $46 more than buying the 36mm hose itself. I think the cost difference is closer to $75 now, but IMHO still worth it because you get the cleaning pieces, the 36mm hose, and the big systainer, which fits both the 27 hose as well as the 36 and all the cleaning set pieces.

The 36mm hose does make a difference. It is most effective with the larger chip producing tools.
Personally, I don't use it with my TS55, since that is mostly used for sheet goods.
It's completely unnecessary with sanders, which are the thing where the extra stiffness would be a problem anyway. You generally turn the CT down with them.
As I see it, the cleaning set is the most cost effective way to get a 36mm hose. It's not as good as it used to be, but still good.
Mine is the older metal tubes too.

As has been mentioned, the sets are a cost-effective way to pick up a 36mm hose and vacuum accessories. Especially the Tradesman/Installer which runs only $50 more than purchasing the included 36mm hose by itself. The accessories that come in the set go for $135 when purchased separately, and that's not including the systainer.

Yep, that's the set. Crazy good deal.

Thanks again all.

I am now looking the metal set with the hose, and it doesn't mention compatibility with the MIDI, not sure if the page hasn't been updated or its just not compatible.

Compatible with CT 26, CT 36, CT 48, CT 36 AutoClean

The plastic version without hose does mention the MIDI

I have the older 🤘 metal 🤘 tradesman set that came with the D36. I recently had to cut that D36 into two and attached ends to make it into two more tiny D36s. One is for a dedicated Kapex DC that I love. The other acts as a kinda-too-short D36 for doing cleanup with the turbo head.

Does anybody or any-vendor know of a cool deal to get another D36? Like, you know, buy a BS-105-get-a-D36 or equivalent? (Already have the BS-74  [cool] k thx and love it for marquetry)

You can get a bit of a discount on hartville tool's ebay outlet store. They offload used/open/damaged packaging festool items. Try "best offer" for a few times to try to hit the best price. I've saved a lot of money on accessories buying through them, including an FS800 for $65.

I originally bought the metal tradesman/installer set to use with my OG MINI (with the dials).  It works just fine with my MINI, MIDI-I, and CT 26.

I have the tradesmen/installer set (577258) and I think that the fit of the D36 hose to the plastic curved hand tube is atrocious.  Does anyone else have a problem with the tube coming out of the hose while in use?  When I am using it the leverage of this contraption causes the tube to come out of the twist-lock end.  My experience is that the twist-lock connector on the  D27 is of much higher quality, the 36 seems much cheaper imo.  What say you?

Excellent, didn't know about that store!
