Festool cover caps not available - what the heck?

I bought some of the DF 700 corner connectors to build a bed. All is going well, but I placed the access holes on the outside of the rails. I thought I could just buy some cover caps, but they are strangely almost impossible to buy here in the USA.

Am I missing anything? Have any of you bought some in the USA.

Thanks!

This may not be an answer, but possibly an approach.

I have bought several items that are not imported to the USA from Amazon. I log onto one of the foreign Amazon sites and check for availability. Buying is easy as it runs through my regular Amazon account.

I started my search in countries that use English as the dominant language. That would include The UK, Ireland, Australia. But strangely Amazon.de (Germany) has an option for changing to English and I ended up purchasing from Germany, but it was shipped from Amazon.es (Spain).

When I googled the covers, the only ads I saw were from Australia include Amazon.au in your search.

To hook up to the foreign sites, click the icon at the bottom that look like the outline of a person. That will move you to your personal information. Then at the top right hand corner is an icon of a flag. Click that and then choose the country you want to shop from. When you are done, remember to switch back the the USA.

Alternatively, write to Festool and ask which retailer carries these items in the USA.

Here is what the flag look like it includes “EN” for English/

That company did not come up when I googled it. What was your Google search?

That's strange as they are offered at the other Festool websites, UK, Germany Australia and Netherlands. They seem to be MIA only on the US & Canadian websites. I wonder if it isn't just an error on Festool's part? I've contacted Festool in the past and they verified they sometimes have website issues. 😵‍💫

I found one US company that indicated on their site that they were in stock.

I ordered a set last night, but I just got an email saying that they have been discontinued and are not available.

Very strange.

Following Packard's suggestion, I ordered them from Amazon in Germany. I didn't have to change anything though, as it showed up when I did a search.

Fingers crossed though, as they listed it as having only one left in stock.

Thanks, I never saw that one in my searches.

Have you bought from them?

Did they say what the shipping charges would be?

Although you did not have to change the country to order, I think the next time you are on the Amazon site, it will still be the German version. You will have to follow my instructions above and switch it back to USA.

your google results are region based, and probably tailored to your interests unless you opt out of google trackings

i haven't called ultimate tools to check

canadian lee valley has these instead??

either way search for festool 201354
Thanks. I actually bought those from Hartville Hardware by mistake. They are for the DF 500, but I was rushing and didn't notice.

I'm trying to get the caps for the DF 700 connectors.

Lee Valley shows them as back ordered, as did a few others sites.

I did come across an international site that let me select my location as the USA, but further below the product listing was a notice that Festool products couldn't be shipped to either the USA or Canada.

The funny thing is that the $345 set of DF 700 connectors comes with all three types of 700 cover caps and is available at Tool Nut for immediate shipping. I don't know if Festool is steering us to that expensive option or it hasn't sold out yet because it is pricy. My issue with the sets like that is that I end up with stuff I don't use.

No and there were no shipping charges, but the item was about double what it is in the usa, except you can't get it here...
I’ve only ordered 4 times from Amazon.de and each time I got charged for shipping. (I have Prime.)

Are you sure there is no shipping charge?

I just looked at the online invoice. It shows $9.90 for international shipping and -$9.90 for free international shipping.

I'm pretty sure it didn't show that when I placed the order.

OK. Good deal. And as far as international purchases, going through Amazon gives you a lot of protection. I would be very leery of making international purchases otherwise.

looks like MIA maybe more than here Screenshot (91).png

Thanks for that @guybo ...for some reason there seems to be a a diminished supply of most Festool products across every country. I originally pinned that on tariffs but that conundrum has come and gone.

Prime is per country.

Example: If I have Dutch Amazon Prime, it still doesn't get me free shipping from the German Amazon. And even when I (in NL) have German Amazon Prime (which they pretty much made impossible after introducing it NL) it doesn't yield free shipping outside Germany.

I’m not sure about their shipping policy, but the cost seemed reasonable.

I did order one item from Amazon.de (Germany), and it shipped from Amazon.es (Spain) with no change in the original shipping price. So, other than being pleased that it wasn’t back ordered, I remained confused on their policy.

Note: I only ordered from Amazon.de because the site had a toggle that changed it over to English. I could not figure how to do that with the other sites. There was one exception, I ordered from their UK site to buy a UK manufactured dowel jig. And the UK site was always in English.
