Ive just recently taken delivery of the CS 70 E, opted for this option as it was quite a bit cheaper than the EB, even after buying the hose and splinter guards severalty. I couldn't find any info on what the difference was if any. It was suggested that it may not have an electric brake. Catalogue says that the electric brake stops in 3 seconds. Ive timed mine and its 4.31 seconds, still pretty fast in my eyes, the only other things that I've noticed and didn't see any info is that the E doesn't have speed control, something that doesn't particularly  bother me, as Ive never had that option before on a table saw. But the annoying thing, which I thought is quite important, it doesn't come with the motor filter, something thats in the features of this saw, but not saying if an optional extra, unless I'm wrong of course and its just missing

On the Dutch festool website it says in the description of the CS 70 E: "notice: with constant electronic, without airfilter"

I have the EB version and every once in a while I use it to cut aluminum profiles, (with the non ferro blade), and for this reason I appreciate the variable speed and the airfilter.

Can see it as clear as day on the Festool site, but strangely not on the company I bought it from web site.

This is the only saw I know that has air filter. Is it really necessary? The rest of the brands and models seem to manage just fine without one.

On the Belgian festool site it mentions the purpose of the airfilter is to prevent metalchips from possibly damaging the motor when cutting aluminium.
