Festool CXS Brushless

I was so excited for the new CXS 18. I was hoping there would be 3x more bit storage on it than the previous model. As has already been pointed out, Why IS the systainer so big? It should have a drawer if its going to be that big. Why is the CXS 18 so tall? You only need to put two fingers under the trigger. I hope it doesn't have a delay like my CXS when you squeeze the trigger. I can fully depress the trigger several times rapidly and the bit won't even start spinning. I'm learning to feather the trigger instead of tapping it like everyone does with an impact driver, but it is annoying and seems like a defect. Let me know if this sounds like a defect. (Even though I'm out of warranty) I love Festool tools, but with every single one there is at least one thing that makes me say "what were they thinking"? I often find myself saying, I'll wait for the next version. When the next version (or three) finally comes out, it always falls short of my expectations. These tools are expensive, we shouldn't have to compromise.

It’s been about 6 years or more since i sold on my CXS, but the behaviour of your trigger sounds broken. 3 quick trigger presses without the drill moving? I mean maybe if the torque dial is at the softest setting that might be ok. . But from the description that’s sounds like a duffer, and certainly not the behaviour i remember from mine.

But like i say, it’s been a while since i had one in hand.

Agreed, in my experience, and that of most users here, the trigger is the thing they all like. The size, weight, and ergonomics, along with the versatility of the attachments, are the reasons it is so popular.

I have yet to see any of the videos, but I'm not seeing how the right angle attachment fits without the nose extension? That is also the clutch adjustment. Where did that function go?

Unfortunately, your CXS needs to be serviced... [sad] ...there is a delay but just a small one and certainly not a full depression of the trigger speed control. Here's a photo of mine, the second pencil mark is the point when the drill starts to slowly rotate at around 100 RPM. So, only 3 mm of trigger travel yields a 100 RPM chuck speed.

The right angle attachment is a FastFix attachment like the ones used on the full size T-18 and C-18 drills.

The torque setting on the TXS-18 is on the back near the base, on the CXS-18, it's inside the handle on the front edge.

Both are similar to the current CXS/TXS-10 inasmuch as you have to turn them all the way past full torque to get them to drill mode, unlike the T-18 and C-18, which have the drill/driver selector switch.
