Oh no MR. Bill!

Just went online to track the shipment of my Centrotec kit from Bob Marino and found this:

Did a quick google search and hope it was THIS incident, rather than THIS one!

Hopefully the package gets recovered and just sent along late? Or maybe Bob has to get involved if it's damaged....

Wow!  That's not a status on UPS.com you'd ever want to see.  Especially for a package we've all been so excited about for so long.  I'm sure you'll never see that as a status again, or any of us for that matter.  Hope no one got hurt.

i dont know whats more worring . festool presents damaged somwhere or that the delivery company has an option for train derailment [eek]

Its probably just a bullet proof excuse for opps we lost that shipment, say it was derailed.

Humm, in the tracking information for my set there's an entry "Creston, IA, United States  10/06/2011  2:00 A.M.  Late train.".  Wonder if it was the same entry.  Too heavy a load of Festools for the rail system?

I didn't realize that UPS uses rail freight for time sensitive packages -- I guess freight is freight.  [huh]

Calm down everyone, my shipment from Bob arrived today right on schedule.

So where's the problem?  [big grin]

I for one feel better, thanks John.  [big grin]
I never gave it any thought -- does a lot of UPS freight travel by rail in the western states?

UPS is one of the largest users of Trailer On Flat Car (TOFC) intermodal freight, not only in the West but throughout the U.S.

Some railroads (such as CSX in the eastern U.S.) operate trains primarily or exclusively for UPS trailers, these are some of the highest priority trains on the system.

Status currently shows the package in California and scheduled for monday delivery now, maybe my train was just delayed by the derailment of the other train.
