It does not appear that there many options for Festool drill bit sets, everything but individual bits seem to be discontinued, sold out or Europe only. Found one place that has the basic installers set for $350, but doesn't even look like it has drill bits

Have to agree  [sad]
I've had this issue both in South Africa and again here in NZ. If I want drill bits etc, I have to buy the whole systainer box accessory kit.
Is it possible to get these online somehow?
Com'on Festool, help us out here.

Where are they in NZ?
Is there a URL?

In SA, I ordered though my dealer for the complete systainer set. I could probably still do that but so can my dealer here in NZ.
I'm looking for individual bits

Tigger, I was in C&L Tool Centre in Brisbane this afternoon and they had the full Centrotech set on the shelf. I was very tempted but at A$550 the credit card did not stretch that far, especially after the purchase of an MFS, TS55 insert and OF insert, plus side and rear extensions.

They also had individual bits on display

Thanks Aquila

I'll search them out and see if they can sort me out. I also finally got round to my dealer today and he will see what he can do.

Cheers

If Centrotec isn't a must then check out

-FISCH
-COLT  ( they’re also available in inches that still 8th, 32nd 16th and 64th-ing)  [tongue]

I find this a bit odd and frustrating. I only have the CXS Festool drill right now, the rest are still Dewalt. It makes me less likely to get any others since one of the selling points is the Centrotec system, but we can't actually buy hardly any Centrotec bits here.

If anyone is interested I have a second (new) attic lid 6 pc brad point set i would be willing to part with. I had one in each drill case but never opened it. They are amazing btw.

Have you seen Axminster's take on a Centrotec installers set? http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-tradesman-kit-bag

Fits Centrotec and 1/4" HEX bit holders, made by Fisch in Austria. I own the wood drill bit set and am very pleased with it.

The set is not for me though, but I think I will order their Centrotec retaining HEX bitholder as the Festool one is pretty wobbly. Hopefully this one does a better job retaining the bits...

I've got them as well as the metal bits , excellent bits , also bought the 6mm masonary bit , hit a hard brick drilling with the pdc and blew the tip off it , won't be buying another one.

That's a nice looking set, wish I had seen it before I spent $360usd on a metric zobo set and two snappy sets, although I am pleased with the quality of the Snappy sets, they are very nice and seem sharp, have not used them enough to know how they will hold up

Hmmm I've had not so good experiences with (Trend) Snappy (non centrotec) drill bits. The wood drill bits were pretty appalling in my book. Countersinks were so-so but also not spectacular. The Fisch 'Quick Change' (1/4 HEX and Centrotec compatible) I am pretty pleased with it.

Sad to hear about this state of affairs.. It's an expensive investment with centrotec drills, so they should provide access to the bits. Living here in Scandinavia, I have ready access to the Festool centrotec line of bits, my supplier is ACH autocolor.. I think it might be worth it ordering from the USA these days because of the strong dollar, really the bits are so well especielly the Zobo, Bradpoint , HSS steel, will last a lifetime. I have bought piece by piece nearly the whole centrotec line up and wouldn't go back to using non centrotec bits..

Just buy for europe now with the strong dollar it's good time to do it!
