Festool Drills - Which one to choose?

You took the words right out of my mouth (or fingers), Bob.

I have a TDK 12 Set left for $307.50, delivered. If you price out just the chucks, they would cost about that.

Basically, the drill with two unused batteries and charger are free.

Actually, for those wanting more than 1 drill and can  spring for the ching, the best deals out there would be to get one of the TDK or C12 sets - effectively getting the 2 chucks - right angle and eccentric, for about $90.00 and then get T15 nonset.
Regarding the C12's and TDK's , they are going fast, so get em' while their hot.

Bob, will the new Li-ion C12's take the old batteries?  What about using the li-ion on the old drill?

You can't use Li-Ion batteries on the old drills.

You can use the old batteries on the new drills.

Well I'm damn impressed with my C12.  Today's job was fixing the frame on the garage door - there is a big girder across the aperture and the nails (?!) the previous owner tried to fix it with have come adrift.  So I assembled some long M8 bolts, washers and nuts, along with a mains powered drill and got to work. 

The mains drill would not fit into the aperture.  So I tried the DeWalt 18v cordless.  Nope.  The C12?  With a right angled chuck?  On a big girder?  Not a chance!  All the same, I tried it, and it worked perfectly.  6 x 8mm holes later (stepped from 2->4->6->8), all was well, and I hadn't even bothered to charge the battery before starting. 

For a small 12v drill, it is a very capable bit of kit.
