I think it is a great idea and will host. when? is a variable.  I would be thinking a Sat or Sun in July.

Beer and brats supplied. May have one or more of shop assistants and maybe I won't. Shop dog, yes.

Let me know your thoughts.

I would be honored to attend and see the shop, assistants,  dog and of course you.  I have scoured your site and learned so much from you, it would be nice to  thank you in person.
Where is Hope?  I live in Hartford area, so it can't possibly be that far away.  When are you thinking?  We could podcast with Timmy c's Midwest bash or would that be to dorky?

My thoughts are that if you want me to fly across the country, it won't be to see your garage.  ALL shop assistants would be required attendance.

I am thinking July 13 -- a SUnday, but I would like to hear from any one who might attend if that is good or bad.

Now official:

Rhode Island Festool Fest - at shop of Woodshopdemos, John Lucas in Hope RI. Sunday, July 13th12 noon to 3. Sandwichs and beer provided. Send email to sign up. I will send directions by email response. Sorry, no assistants will be present.

Hi John,
Sure sounds like fun, assistants or not.  I don't think i can make it.  When one has been 39 as long as I have been, it ain't so much relaxing to spend 6 hours driving and sandwiching party time in between.  Since i got rid of my cadilacs (both eyes) I don't much care to spend two or three of those hours (return trip) staring directly into the sun.  I will give it some consideration between now and then.  it should be fun and especially interesting to see your new shop and to meet up with other fellow FOG'ers

I remember your old one and from pics you have shown the new one is one great improvement in space and comfort.

How far from Providence are you?
Tinker

Tinker,
Hope is 10 miles west from Prov...your direction. I do understand the driving concerns. I would love to have you here, but it just is too much of a drive. You are welcome any time...if there is a better time.

John,
I may hitch a ride with Charles Wilson (a little less than an hour to his place, i think) if i get a couple of other items worked out.  Looking forward to making it.

It's funny how when i was 38, i could drive all day and all nite.  now I'm 39, the miles just get a tad longer.

Tinker
