Festool Grinder Conversion

I did this to my AG-FH (the ‘tile cutter’ variant) in the UK. Didn’t see the video posted above, I just looked at the spare parts diagrams for both models and ordered what was different. Worked flawlessly as an angle grinder for many jobs and was super simple to swap back over to the ‘tile cutter’ configuration when necessary. It really is quite a simple modification.

It is much cheaper to buy the tile cutting variant and convert to the angle grinder than the other way round. Festool does a few different blade and knuckle shields so you can configure it to your preferred safety level too.

Quick change nut is a must have IMO, I bought them for all my various other angle grinders after using on the Festool.

I would add for those converting ... you are much better off getting the 150mm Fein shield while at it in place of the 125mm Festool one.

The original Fein WGS 150 this shield was for is no longer made, but the shield was not changed - it is the same one as for the current CG 15-150 series grinders though the part# may change.

The AGC 18 is limited to 9000 rpm, so running it with 150 mm discs is absolutely fine .. actually, it is preferable due to a higher/better linear speed when used with the bigger disc.

IMO, the best set is to get both the Fein 150 mm and 115 mm shields and use the small one for grinding - the AGC lacks the torque to use the bigger 125 mm grinding discs effectively.
