Spoke to my dealer the other day And he said festool are releasing a impact driver in september is this true? If so what voltage.  Cheers

well well well, here we go.

i love chinese whispers...

by the way, i heard something similar down here too.

[popcorn]

justin.

Great another NAINA... *sigh*, maybe in a  year and a half we'll have it. [embarassed]

Guy posted this over a week ago.  Not just a whisper me thinks.  Re-branded pro-tool i think.

I sincerely doubt that. The Protool is not an impact driver despite the fact that everybody keeps calling it that, it's an impact WRENCH, and it's darn heavy at 2.3 kilo's. Unless you're taking off tires all day or fitting steel beams this thing is not much fun to work with. If Festool brings out an impact driver I expect it to be more aimed at Festool's user base, i.e. smaller and lighter, comparable to the normal impact drivers we already know of other brands.

amen to that,
i checked out protools impact as soon as i heard the rumors, and it's not really the kind of tool i would want to use daily.
so far festool hasn't "done like everybody else" so chances are they could come with a surprise. not just a €700 impact driver that can basically only do that, but one that incorporates the centrotec technology so it can serve as a normal drill aswell.
me hopes.

like the makita multi drill that are 4 years old.

i loved my 14.4 v makita brushless impact just like my other stuff the scumbags stole>>>

protool never released an impact driver.

they did release an impact wrench.

if you search on the forum, i have spoke about this before.

regards, justin.

OK, it would appear i am wrong  [embarassed]  Just going on what i was told.  The Panasonic is a nice impact, be good if Festool could make a small neat one.  No, what am i saying, i "DONT" need one  [blink]

I still love mine, I got it as a bare tool (with systainer) when they just came out.
Luckily I still have it, a few weeks ago they stole my CS70 and my jobsite radio.

How did "they" steal a big CS70 without being noticed?  Sure it's possible, but that seems like one of the more unlikely tools to easily be taken.

i hate theifs, put them in a room with me and my estwing  ill teach them a thing or too....

sorry for my anger got my garage broke in too a few weeks a go and got around 40-50% off my power tools stolen.

That's what I thought aswell, I left it at the house we were remodelling in the city (at the time nobody was living there anymore) (I did roll it into an inconspicuous corner with something in front of it, so it couldn't be seen from outside) It got stolen during the weekend, they took of the outfeedtable and left it, and probably were disturbed (or couldn't load anymore), because my aircompressor with hosereel were in the frontyard.

The CS70 was 8 years old, and I replaced it two days later (one of my dealers had a special discount over a certain amount that day, because of their 25th anniversary); A festool rep was there aswell, and asked if I needed any accessories, so I asked for the wheelset, which was also on the saw (I should have asked for the laminate blade though, which is more expensive than the wheelset) (they left the systainer standing next to it with all my blades and the dc-hose)

Everything has feet.  Lock it down, lock it up, just make it as difficult as possible to steal your stuff.

I agree with Alex!  People keep saying Protool make an Impact drill but it aint a impact drill! I think some people dont know what the difference between Wrench and driver

I would like to see a brushelss variable speed with all the adapter like the normal festool drills! Like angle chuck!  Some how have a angle adapter but it can some how still transfer the impact through the angle adapter.

Just like a normal drill with a electronic clutch maybe the Impact drill can have that also!   OR maybe you can control the impact but keep the drill at full speed so you can increase the impact or decrease it for smaller or larger screws?

hi jmb.

for the record...

protool do have an impact drill.

protool do have an impact wrench.

protool do not have an impact driver.

i just want to make clear so everybody else that reads this does not get confused with different statements.

In the U.S. we commonly use impact drivers.  They differ from impact wrenches only by the shaft end.  If it's 1/4" hex it's known here as a driver.  If it's a male end for sockets and socket adapters with 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" or 7/16" female Milwaukee for their hole drilling adapters, it's called a wrench and has more available torque.

A drill that does everything is different than what we're used to and may not be the most receptive to us, unless it also takes egg beaters and makes breakfast.

Well in UK people know Impact drivers  as Impact driver or Impact drill both same thing.  But to not confuse I have edited my post.

Impact drill is a percussion drill I assume thats what impact drill is cus I cant find it.

i would only buy a impact driver if it had the extra chucks including the offset chuck etc. it would also be relitivly silent(as quiet as a normal drill)
