Hi. I am totally new to the forum and while I did search I am not clear on what is going on. I went to Amazon to buy Festool aluminum cutting blade for some work I need to do with 80/20 and L-Track. I am going to be cutting quite a bit of it so I wanted a blade dedicated to the task.

While Amazon sells the Festool blade it has to be imported into the UK. I have looked at all the usual places here in the US that sells Festool and I can't find this dedicated blade. I can find off-brand blades, but I have no experience on which are high quality.

Am I missing something? Is the item number different here in the US? Does Festool sell a dedicated aluminum blade here in the US?

Thanks in advance.

I would say call Festool USA, or toolnut for the best answer.
Good luck.

I believe that Festool USA discontinued selling the Kapex aluminum blade (495385) several years ago. I think there was a concern with hot metal chips in the dust collector.

Ya, as has already been mentioned, Festool discontinued their aluminum cutting blades in the US about 4-5 years ago. I was fortunate enough to pick up a Festool aluminum blade for both the Kapex & the TS 55. Both blades perform well...superbly in fact.

There are others on the forum such as [member=25351]rst[/member] that are very happy with the Amana aluminum blades that AGE manufactures (German) and are sold through Tools Today.

I don’t have a Kapex, but I use a Diablo aluminum blade in my miter saw, it performs very well. Don’t know if they sell a Kapex compatible blade though.

Out of an abundance of caution, when I have a lot of metal to drill, I remove the dust extraction from the drill press.
