Well, I got the new clear splinterguards installed on ALL of my guide rails, recut, etc today.  1700, 1400x2, 1080x2.  Also aligned the TS75 to the TS55 cut line on the rails, and since I'm using all Tenryu blades, the kerf is the same for ALL my blades!

I also set up my new FS-PA kit.

I also had a 1400 rail that was used, that the previous owner had gouged pretty badly when a plunge cut got away from him.  I used my new Aluminum bladed for the Kapex and trimmed the damaged portion off the 1400 (it's now a 1352!).  It's balls on square and alinged well at both ends while trimming the new splinter guard strips.

I was debating on cutting the damaged 1400 into an 800 and a short left over, but I decided against it for now.  I dont do many short cross cuts that aren't on the MFT or Kapex if narrower than 12", so I'll keep my new 1352/2 in tact for now.  I even drilled a new hole in the shortened end.

Now I just need to build some of the dozen or so projects on my 'to do' list...... ::)

*EDIT*

I also found as I was digging through all my stuff that I have two brand new pieces of the older black splinter guard.  one is in excess of 1400mm, and the other is longer than 1080 mm.  I'd be willing to give this to a fellow festoolian if he/she were willing to pay shipping....

How are the Tenryu blades?  I saw them at a trade show back in Feb and the price was amazing but I passed.  what was the price difference when you bought them?

thanks

I have the Tenryu blades for my Tablesaw and the 55, all provide great results.

I've been very pleased with the results.  They all cut very well for their intended purpose.  I particularly like the fact that I don't goof up the splinter strip every time I swap blades.

The "composite" 48t blade for the 55 gives very good chip free cuts, even w/ HD melamine. (with a slow feed rate.)

I'd be interested in the old splinter guard. I  mean old style (new) pieces you have. I live in the Kansas City area.
