Festool OF1400 on Bosch Track?

Recently changed from the Milwaukee track saw to a mafell corded track saw. I have the 1600 and 1100 Bosch tracks.

I want to use my festool OF1400 router. Anyone done this? Any adapter I need?

Sorry, I can't help. My experience is with Festool routers on Festool tracks or the Makita compact router on a Festool track.

The Milwaukee track saw is a brand new offering, why are you out of one already? Disappointed in some way? Fantastic deal on the Mafell?

Yes just thought I found a good deal on a Mafell with the tracks. I have always wanted to try one. The milwaukee track saw is solid. I like this one better though.

What do you want to do with your router. Cut grooves?

Yessir. That is about what i need to do. Cut slots for C channel etc.

I would do that with a template and bushing rather than a track. This allows you to relieve the field between the deeper edges too. This would be overly cumbersome with a rail, could be done, but why make it so difficult?

As mentioned, Microfence has an adapter for Festool routers.

Generally I just run the flat edge of the router base along the non-splinterguard edge of the track. No adapter required.

John

Edit: If you don't see an adapter for Bosch/Mafell rails on the website contact Microfence. I'm pretty sure they make it.

I fabricated shower niches from Kerdi-Board using a Festool 1010 router, Festool rail and a MicroFence clamp interface slide. The positioning of the rails had to be spot-on and the router travel had to be spot-on to produce absolutely square shower niches.

Thanks everyone. I think I will just use the back end of the Bosch track or my big woodpecker square. Appreciate the help!

Hello, I know this is an old thread, but adding something I found, in case others have this question:

It appears that this adapter by Bosch is compatible with Festool OF1400 and OF1010:

Bosch Professional 1600Z0000G Adapters for The Fsn Ofa Guide Rail, for Use During Guided Routing with Bosch Fsn Guide Rails
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FLC4HCO/ref=sw_img_1?smid=AP3VA1GJZM3EQ&th=1

From the description:

Compatible with: Bosch GKF 600, GOF 1250, GOF 1600, GOF 2000 ; Festool OF 1010, OF 1400 ; Mafell LO 50 E; DeWalt DW 26203, DW 621, DW 622, DW 613 ; Makita RP 1110, RP 0900 ; Trend T4, T5, T10, T11; Perles OF3/OF9; Casals CT3000VCE ; Triton 1400W

My use case: I have Mafell and Bosch rails to go with my Mafell TS. I do not own any Festool rails (yet). I have both the OF1010 and OF1400, and would like to use the OF1010 on the rail (OF1400 pretty much lives inside the CMS table).

The adapter was on sale for $69 with free international shipping from Amazon UK. It will be here in 2-3 weeks. If anyone would like me to follow up and confirm that both the 1010 and 1400 are compatible, let me know.

Absolutely...and thanks for the offer.  [smile]

I prefer using the Mafell rails when rail clamping is required and the 1010 is my favorite go-to router.

Got the adapter today - is it compatible with the 1010? The answer is... probably not?

There are no holes on the adapter that align with the two threaded mounting holes on the 1010 base.

However, there are two holes that line up with the innermost screws near the bit:

Here are the screws that the holes align to. I don't know if they are intended to be removed for this purpose? Cheese, what do you think?
