I use a small 1/2" collet DeWalt plunge router on mine and it works perfectly. (Can't remember the model #)

[welcome] to the forum.

All I can say is - that looks like an impressive pile of tech.

What sort of comments would you like?

Kev.

Looks like overkill to me, that is a big heavy clumsy router for that jig, but... if that is all you got...

The 2200 is very heavy for FMT work - you will be lifting it up and down a lot.  I would also expect that the jig would defeat Festool's dust control, but don't know for sure.  No particular need for a lot of horsepower on the FMT.  On the other hand, the 2200 is extremely stable and vibration free - a real boon for the FMT.

BTW, I sold my FMT and got a Domino.

I need to sell mine too, I never use it.  Would be great for someone that makes chairs.

I have the Leigh pro version and I use PC's 890 series with the vac grip and it works great.  I actually have two of these routers and all three base options and love them.

I would agree with others. No need for a big high HP router with the FMT. No reason yu can't use the 2200 if that is what you already have. I'm sure it's a great router and will work just fine on the FMT. I wish the Domino had been around when I bought my FMT. I would sell the FMT but doubt I could get enough to make it worthwhile.

Maybe I'm strange but looks quite sexy to me

I've lusted after both for a while
