Festool Oil Finishes

Hey everyone sorry for the lack of response. Anywho a lot of the gloss can be attributed to doing a good job sanding. The final sanding I always use a rotex on the fast removal mode and go with 400-600 grit. On woods like bubinga it will actually polish it before you even put finish on. I think I'm gonna try and order a shinex to buff the finish after I'm done and I bet that will make it even a bit glossier.

. Shinex is going away, may not be in stock at dealers much longer.  It's rumored that a new polisher is taking its place.

Thanks for responding to the sanding questions.  I'll be using more Surfix.

Also, you can probably get the results you're looking for with your rotex.  I used my RO150 and RO90 to blend all of the scratches out of my F250 before I traded it.  I sanded up to 1500 and polished after painting up to 5000.  To be clear, I am an idiot.  I never did any metal finishing before.  However, the only issue I had was that the tailgate looked so good the dealer thought it was replaced.  -- the truck was 15 years old and the tailgate had lots of scratches before I touched it up.

Ha no you're not an idiot. My dad used to do body work when I was a kid and he's hand sand everything up to at least 2000. Now he is retired from that and has started painting all of our farm equipment. (His last project was a 2001 silage truck that now has a pearl paint job)

It is self ignition. It's happen very often with cotton fabric. After application deep cloth in water.
