If 10% off a product gets you excited, then I also don't know what our MBA is good for. Except for Festool, I can get 10% off or consumables equivalent to that depending on product for just walking in the door and buying tools. For those who are only consumers I guess it could be a big deal. As a contractor it doesn't make me break out the cash.
I think they might be giving dicount on TS55 because it isnt the only tool avaliable now because Makita make one just the same and Dewalt to one and Dewalt do a Cordless one so maybe they are trying to just stay competative with the other brands. Normaly Festool are the only brand which do the tools so they can charge silly prices.
I think Holzhacker hit the nail on the head - 10% is probably not enough to make many of us buy something we wouldn't have eventually bought anyhow, but if I'm gonna buy it one of these days, might as well act now and save a few bucks...
No John, those are usually other brand bits, blades, paper, etc. However I could have gotten a bunch of sample packs of 6" festool paper tossed in during a purchase. Didn't take it though since I don't have a 6" sander.

10% discount means nothing to me. If I really need a tool I'm gonna buy it anyway regardless of the price. Now if a saw a really good discount, one that would save me 30% or more then I might be tempted into an impulse buy, but a mere 10% would never draw me over that line.
