Well, including my CMS I think I'm using over 1,000 pounds worth of tables to paint some doors - must not drip... must not drip...

[attachthumb=#0]

One of the doors is actually a cut-down fireblanks (Fire doors made from solid blocks of wood), it comes in at just under 50kg... That's one heavy door !! (It starts at 8foot by 4 foot by nearly 2 inches - solid wood...)

This is the first time I've actually painted and sanded doors - using my Rotex and some Titan paper (180, 240... 320) with successive layers of Dulux Satinwood. What a difference !! After three coats and rollering on the paint - it's lovely and smooth... Not quite spray smooth - but not too far off...

Laying them flat means no dribbles ...

As I've been making a few doors out of fireblanks, I had a few strips left over - so, using my Domino, I was able to make another door up, sand it down - looks as good as a new now... Before anyone says anything... This door was not used as a "real" firedoor...

Paul.

Satinwood is a nice paint. I'm using it on my builtin wardrobe. It goes on like cream. One day I will post some pics of the finished project.

Actually... the door closest is purchased already routed out... This is a traditional english style door. You can buy crap ones for ?9.90 this one is a fire door and cost ?35.00....

I've cut out intumescent strips for all the doors using my OF1400 and a trend bit specifically for the task.

The Satinwood does go one nice. However, I should have sanded the blanks down more BEFORE putting the paint on...

Now... If you want smooth as silk and as hard as nails... Hammerite smooth white - unreal !!

1000 pounds for some tables.....C'MON, how about another 20 pounds for some drop cloths.

I am a very good painter... I don't need drop clothes...

Which, of course is why the walnut floor is all covered with plastic green stuff !!

Fair point..  Well made !
