hello all !

does anyone have experience with using the Festool PD 20/4 E QuaDrill in a drill stand??

for a while I've been looking what drill I should get for the Record Power DMS/26, which is a wopper of 17kg.
I think it's a good and solid stand for the price. also discontinued because the factory in china which produced them went down.
with the possible fiddling it will serve my needs but cannot give a verdict until I've got a drill to put into it.

reasons for going for a stand and not a pillar drill are simply space limitations and having eventually a corded power/percussion drill, will come in handy as well.

so, I was looking into the Bosch drills like the GSB 21-2 RCT Percussion Drill with Torque Control or the Festool PD 20/4 E QuaDrill.

any comments and suggestions are welcome.

cheers,

Philipp.

I'm using  PD 20/4 E FFP-Plus quadrill with drill stand.
The tool is powerful, the drill stand used is good quality (wabeco - german).
But i'm not very happy : i have problems with the fastfix system (i have used two differents which are new). The accuracy is not perfect because the drill will move a little bit from the vertical. It moves because the FastFix keyless chuck is moving a little bit.

Moreover, when i drill steel, the drill used with the fastFix keyless chuck will frequently be released by itself. The fastfix doesn't provide enough tight.
I would like to use 'CC-16 FFP FESTOOL 769061' for more tight, but festool site doesn't say if it's compatible with the PD 20/4.

I have used a DRC 18/4 cordless drill in a GD 320 Drill stand for drilling 12mm holes through 6 inch posts with a decent auger bit and it was surprisingly easy and very accurate.
