hi everybody i was wondering if some body could explain this to me. i am going to buy a of 1400 and was quoted at 597 euro in my local shop , if i look on axministers site and on rutlands site (althow they only sell in gbp ) they will sell me it for 495 euro (including delivery and exchange rates) . how can there be such a difference in price . i thought festool was very strict about its price.. this is not just on the 1400 but also the mft and rotex that i am thinking of getting.  is there any reason not to buy it in the uk

I too have noticed that UK prices are considerably cheaper than on the continent at the moment. I think this is because of the current weakness of the pound sterling against the euro, whereas Festool set their product prices in local currencies on a longer-term horizon. So Festool would expect the relative difference between the UK and Europe to get smaller in time.

Right now the cross-rate is about 0.88, but most forecasts expect it to go down towards 0.75 over time. So the 100 euro difference in your example would go down to only 20 euros on that basis.

Buy in the UK whilst you can. I did, and the savings were huge.
