What is the difference between the festool rapid clamp fsl vs fsr .has anyone good instructions how this clamp works

768116 RAPID/L
489790 RAPID/R

Same price and image on the website, but given the /L /R they might be mirror images of each other (like with the UG wings). As you have awoken my curiosity (and at times I curse that the lever is on the wrong side of mine) I sent an inquiry to the german headquarters and will report back with my findings.

Interesting! 768116 does not appear to work on USA websites, guess we only get one version here! I am interested to find out what you hear back from HQ!

Those 2 numbers are for a left hand and right hand version of the same clamp.
I have both clamps and sometimes it's easier to use the left hand version, other times the right hand version depending on the cuts I'm making.

The pictures on that link show images of the same clamp, but in reality, they are the mirror of each other.

Interesting didn't know they did a left & right handed version.

Answer from Festool HQ (thanks to Mr. Gienger, roughly translated and converted to PDF by me) attached.

TL;DR: Char behind the slash denotes the direction (when viewed from behind) the handle swings, pick the right (which will be the Left in that case) one when doing >45° with the tools mentioned in the PDF to not cut into it.

Does the RAPID/L lay to the side by default?  Looks like the handle swings to the left (from operators perspective) to clear the blade.
