So I've been signed up to receive the notices when a Recon'd Festool becomes available on the recon site for as long as it's been available. Problem is that as soon as I get the email I click the link and get the "Uh Oh!" 'the product is not available' message. Every time. Anyone have the same experience?

Yep, timing, also supply and demand.  All of my tools save two were bought on the recon site.

Edited to fix typo.

ALL the time. I clicked for the Domino 5 seconds after I got the email and it was gone.

Some system are just going to get the email sooner than others plus if they only have one item and a thousand people getting emails only one person can win.

I do think the more desirable things like Dominoes they should only let one to a person. I know someone that got two total now, I have tried at least half a dozen times for a Domino with no luck.

Be careful some things just aren't discounted enough. For me 90.00 off 900.00 isn't worth not buying new, especially now that many items have the newer hoses. The CT's unless heavily discounted may or may not be worth what they are asking. They had a 15% Ebay special and my brother bought a CT with the Bluetooth and new hose that happened to have no tax and it cost him a few bucks less than the discounted refurb with old hose and no Bluetooth. DO your research.

They have different pricing depending on several factor for the same item sometimes. Today there were two Domino's(one of each size today I think), I clicked the emails each within 30 seconds of receiving them and they were both gone already.

Certain people with DSL lines that are slow just arent going to have chance against others with fast connections. Sometimes just getting an email takes my system about 5 minute longer than my wife's at work(of course this is more than a slow DSL it's partly my home service provider). My wife will text me many times saying something came for sale before I even get the email at home. OF course Festool can't do anything about that. Today the Domino actually went in my cart instead of saying it was gone, so I thought I finally had one,  well when it went to the pay screen it loaded for 2 min tried to process, then came up sold. I never had that happen before. I am sure whoever got it has a broadband line and got by me.

What can you do, just keep trying. I have purchased a few good deals with them.

Ya gotta check the site on yer and not wait for the email.

Thats what folks are doing.

By the time the email notification hits yer inbox its gone.

I dont mind as I use the emails to check the prices so when it comes time for me to buy, Ill have budgeted enough moolah

With a text email, the speed of your connection isn’t going to be a factor (unless you have a very large email before it in the queue that’s downloading).

The main thing that will influence how fast you get an email are your email settings — both on the server and your device/PC. Email can be “pushed” from the server to your email client (if your setup supports it) or can be “pulled”, or “fetched”, from the server by the email client. Your email client will define how, and how often, this is done. In a work environment, email will typically be “pushed” to email clients quickly. In a home environment, it may not be so fast — an iPad, for example, might be set to check only every 15 minutes or so.

So if the time to get these emails is important, check your email client settings.

I personally believe it's more of a delay of when Festool actually sends the email after festoolrecon.com is updated.

I have gmail.com open on a laptop and my phone is also synched - they both get the email at about the same time, but still 10-15 minutes after the website has changed.

I was addressing [member=3373]Dovetail65[/member] 's comment that his wife gets them first.

But yes, the festoolrecon.com's server email settings will also be critical to when the emails are sent (and could even involve getting a coffee in between, depending on the tech setup there).

Yeah, you are right about that, waiting for the email definitely isn't the best way. I have gotten a few nice deals though.

Last October we were at Pandora, Animal Kingdom Disney in Florida and I got a couple different deals from my email on my phone while waiting in line. I came home to a bunch of Festool boxes at my door.

heheheh did you say Uh Honny, I dont know where those boxes came from hehehehehehe

A belated thank you to all the responses.  I apologize for the late thanks - I had one typed out but I guess I forgot to hit 'post'.
