I had a plugin for Safari that refreshed the page every few seconds. Carvex lasted WAY too long. After investigating the REB vs KEB differences, I decided the REB was for me since I didn't have to redo all the edges on my tracks for a thinner kerf blade of the KEB.

I saw the list fairly early this morning but not as early as normal since I slept in.  There were a few other saws and items up, but curious if any of the Vac-Sys or other popular big-ticket items were up?  I know the CT 48 AC sold today, and I doubt either of the three Planexes will sell (although one is the Planex 2).  The Conturo seems to be one of those things that either disappears right away or lingers forever.  Looks like it's in it's "linger" phase recently.

I was surprised when they had the Vac-Sys SE-2 clamp up yesterday and then also threw an SE-1 clamp up mid-day, mid-sale.  The price break for buying the whole set together is too much to want to even try to buy each piece individually through Recon; hoping someone returns a Set again soon...

Does anyone here use Slack?

I recently wrote a Python script that checks the Recon site for updates. If there's a new tool, it writes the tool name to a Slack workspace channel. I did this so I could use the Slack app to get a notification on my phone/desktop when a new Recon tool is posted.

I think Recon used to send emails when tools were posted but I no longer see that option. One could subscribe to this thread, but then you're also getting forum emails for every post and not just the posts mentioning new tools. I wanted a targeted notification specifically for newly added Recon products so I decided to write some code and manage notifications via the Slack app.

Currently, the script only writes a single tool name to the notification. If there are multiple tools offered on Recon (as there were during the last few days), the notification simply says "Multiple Items" (I'll update this to include all tool names as time permits). Once the tool is gone, the notification says what the Recon site says:

Notifications are only sent when a new tool is available or when a tool sells out (see screenshot above).

AFAIK, Slack doesn't allow anonymous workspace users. To use the app, you'll need a free Slack account before being able to join the workspace and receive notifications. Maybe someone will find it useful.

I really like the slack idea as I currently use distill web browser to send me updates, but when recon is full it runs of out of free email notifications.

I can not get the slack app to let me join the workspace as it requires my email address to be on the workspace already.
