Hi,
I'm having a problem with my ro150 sander. As I use it the speed starts to slow by itself. I use it at 100% all the time so I would be happy if I can lock it at that. I have some ability technically and I read a post from festosnob saying he just tightened the screws on the rheostat to solve an issue like this. Can someone help me find these screws, or is there another solution to this issue? Or can I just lock the speed to 100% by disconnecting the potentiometer?
Thanks in advance.

Before jumping to surgical conclusions, check to make sure that your plugit cord isn't expiring. Sometimes that can wonk out the speed on sanders.

If you want you can take out the electronic module with the potmeter on it completely. It's only there to regulate the speed setting, nothing else, and if you take it out and bypass the connection the sander will work at 100% speed all the time.

The RO 150 E doesn't have a Plug-It cord, but the cord could have broken wires inside which could cause speed changes.

If your sander is well used, worn brushes can also be the problem, you get a bit of erratic behavior before they completely stop.

I was having similar symptoms as you Drdan on my RO150E. I thought, as Alex has suggested, that it was likely to be the brushes as they had never been changed since the sander was new.

I replaced the brushes and it has been fine ever since....

Thanks guys, I'll have a look at the brushes first and let you know what happens. I really appreciate the responses!!!! Cheers!!!

Hi Drdan,

Just wondering whether you have an update on this issue as I’m in the same boat with mine. Thanks
