Does Festool still market the router bits that were listed in the catalog through 2009?  The current catalog listings are but a handful, but previous versions had dozens including a wide selection of 8mm shank bits.

I was able to have FestoolUSA facilitate a pre-pay order from Germany.

Took some time, and cost some money, but they were the bits that I wanted and was worth the effort to me.

Good luck,

Brett

Steve,

Here in North America the selection has been narrowed.  The catalog should be correct bless some dealers have left overs, but many dealers reduced prices and cleared out the non current offerings.

As it has down here, probably because we at least have some high quality alternatives such as the Australian Carbitool range.

They discontinued marketing the 8mm shank router bits in NA quite a while ago. There are still a few that are for the LR 32, MFK 700 and VS 600.

I just attempted to check the active bits and came up with this list:

Just as a note, some of the discontinued bits will appear on our website. I usually leave products that have been discontinued on the site for a period of time to help dealers sell through their inventory. I'm planning to do some housekeeping on that section of the site soon. In case anyone noticed/cares.  [wink]

The Festool router bits I own are some of the best bits I've ever owned. Sucks they're being phased out.

My go to now are CMT's I get from Tom.

Yeah, Festool bits are great.  I went on a buying spree when they first were discontinued and managed to get most of what I wanted.  Would love to get a 45 degree chamfer with the larger cut length and the largest round-over size but I did manage to pick up most of the others on my list.  Amazon has a few if you search by part number last I checked.

I have a few Festool bits as well and they are very high quality and was hoping to add some more.  I like the 8mm shanks much better than the 1/4" and at times actually need a metric straight bit.
