Hello, I just start working on my woodworking as my hobby.  I am kind of DIY.  Fixing around the house and repair my own cars.

I just purchased Festool Router OF2200 EB with Dust Extractor CT48.  Based on OF2200 EB manual. the power requirement is 15A.  However, I want to connect OF2200 EB to CT 48.  Based on CT 48 manual, the total connected load (max) is 12 A (1440 W).  Is it advisable to connect OF220 EB to CT48?  Why Festool is sell them as a package but cannot use it?

Welcome to the forum!  Yes the 'ole label issues.  First it is advisable to plug the dust extractor into a 20 amp circuit if at all possible.  The power usage for the OF2200 is much less unless you have it set for maximum speed and the router is under a heavy load.  So you may be able to use both together is most situations. If you start tripping breakers then you may need to separate the circuits that the extractor and the router are on.

Try it out.  Most people can get it to work for them.

As Peter mentioned, it is best to run the OF 2200 on a 20 amp circuit.  The OF 2200 can draw up to 20 amps on a circuit when the voltage is 110 volts and the router is under full load.  In most circumstances you won't be using the router at full load, so you can get by using the OF 2200 to trigger the CT 48, but if you start tripping breakers, control the CT 48 manually on one circuit and run the OF 2200 on a separate circuit.

I use my 2200 and CT 22 and CT26 all the time without issue. The softstart helps limit the initial draw. I have not had issues tripping any breakers either. It is a sweet set-up.

I do, too.  I also use a 20 amp circuit.  Please note the red text above.  It does not happen all the time, but the potential exists, so I proactively deal with it by separating the two when I feel it appropriate due to anticipated load.

i use my makita 2000 watt router with my ctl midi no probs at all

Can I plug OF2200 EB to CT48 to use automatic start (or whatever it calls)?

I have a CT26 and run my OF2200 from the power socket on the front. I know that you are US based and I am in the UK but the basic design is such that the router will run from the extractor. We have 13 amp fused circuits here and I have never had one blow.
