Festool STL 450 LED Strip Light

Hello everyone
I am searching for more independent information about the STL Light. Looks good in the videos.
Does anyone own one or has tried it out.
Would anyone be willing to make a review?
I did a search on the FOG, Uoogle etc nothing.

I‘ve only seen it in the shop and in Videos.
I do not really see the use for me.

But I suspect it will be like the Syslite, which I absolutely love! So if the form factor and use cases are fitting for you, go for it.

My next light will likely be the Syslite Duo, because I could really use Daylight at night during paint jobs for friends and family...

From the flyer I received in the mail a while ago, I understood it's purpose is different from the syslite.

The syslite is used as a worklight, with a wide angle, the stl is used as grazing light to expose defects in the surface (hence the arm for the stand, so you can position it close to a wall to shine along the surface without having to hold it)

HI thank you for your feed back. Doesn't look like Festool sold a lot of this lights then? I hope someone out there has tried one.

I ordered one after I saw it at Festool Connect- I use it for finding scratches/defects while sanding hardwoods.  I set on edge right on the MFT or workbench and it works great for this function.  I saw it demo'd for finding defects in drywall- wish I had that when I was drywalling our old house a couple years ago as it shows everything that needs fixed.

Could I ask a few more Questions, Do you use the lamp also as a "normal" light to light up your workspace from above or only from the side to see the surface for scratches etc?
Does the case have any holes for hooks to hang the lamp or would you recommend I buy the stand?
I would like to improve my paint surfaces on my work, but there are a lot of factors that need to be fixed like a dust-free space with a filter. So not sure just better light will fix it. but will help to show up the problems. I don't do drywall.

I have never used it to light the workspace from above- I suppose it may work but don't know if it would be an effective solution.  Certainly the Syslite Duo would do a much better job for this (if I'm following your question correctly).  If I want to light up a small area on the workbench, I mount a Syslite on a goose neck and set in one of the 20mm holes in the bench.

There are no mounting holes or hooks on this light, so you would either need the stand and the additional mounting arm; otherwise come up with something on your own.  I already had the tripod for the Syslite Duo, so I purchased the adapter arm for the STL 450.  Arm is very expensive but does work very well.
